Who am I?
Well, I’m still trying to figure that out.
In the meantime, you can call me Alex.
I am a Montreal-based multidisciplinary artist working under the name OHOK. I’ve got a DEC in Illustration & Design from Dawson College, and a BFA in Design from Concordia University. Following in the footsteps of my father and his father before, I also moonlight as a concrete finisher, having established my own residential concrete company in 2020.
I’m a fairly quiet and reserved person but an open book if you ask the right questions. I seek not to live off my art but rather for my art. After many years of struggling with depression, anxiety, and impostor syndrome, I’ve come to confront a lot of those feelings through my practice.
I hope others can see my work for what it is, a reflection of the world, from my own unique lens, trying everything to understand and reconnect with itself.
